When Pigs Fly – An Invitation to Happiness and Success

Imagine a world where everyone is happy and succeeding. Many of us may be unaware that we have a mindset and beliefs that are holding us back, convincing us that happiness and success are blessings bestowed on the lucky few and aren’t meant for the likes of us.

This simply isn’t true, my own journey has taught me that we can all find happiness and success in our lives, but to do this we need to challenge long held beliefs about ourselves and the world in order to overcome our self-imposed limitations.

The Happiness Hitch.

A staggering one third of adults across the globe report being chronically unhappy (ipos.com, 2022), and only 14% consider themselves very happy. We all deserve to be and this is the core reason I founded When Pigs Fly. My mission is to help others gain clarity in what they need to be fulfilled and take action towards that goal.

We create limitations for ourselves based on past experiences or our predictions of the future. Some of the most common can sound like:

  • I don’t have the right qualifications to apply for that role.
  • How could I possibly find time to do the things I want when I have a family to consider?
  • I can’t cope with all the things I have to do.
  • If only my boss was more flexible, then I’d have a better work-life balance.
  • When I achieve my next promotion or get a new car that doesn’t break down all the time, then I will be happy.
  • I will never be able to afford nice things.
  • I’m always going to feel this way, what’s the point in trying anything new?

Did any of those resonate with you? The core beliefs at play here underneath these surface thoughts or statements can be delved deeper into with questioning. See the below example of how negative self-talk is a reflection of the way we feel about ourselves, others and the world.

Self-talk: I was so unproductive today.

Question: if this was true what would it mean to you?

Self-talk: I’m terrible at my job, they’ll probably sack me.

Question: and if that were the case, what would that mean to you?

Self-talk: I don’t deserve this job, I’m not capable of providing for my family.

Question: and if that were so, what would that mean to you?

Self-talk (this is the core belief at play): I’m a failure at everything.

Commonly these can sound like:

  • I’m not good enough.
  • I cannot change.
  • Everyone is against me.
  • Life is unfair and full of risk.
  • I will never be happy.
  • I was dealt a bad hand in life.

We create these beliefs and our own justifications for why they are true. This doesn’t mean that they are. If we look at hard facts, often, they aren’t true at all. Having a predisposition to seeing the negative is an evolutionary trait for survival that no longer serves us in the modern world. Being objective with facts over feelings is the difference between ‘I’m a failure at everything’ and ‘I had one bad day, but on a whole, I’m doing alright’.

Change is possible.

We all need someone that cares, someone that listens, believes in you, and supports you on your journey. Having an external voice to look at your situation objectively and with compassion gives a fresh perspective when you’re feeling stuck.

That someone is us at When Pigs Fly. Our clients are those that feel there must be more for them out there, but just aren’t quite sure what that may be or how to achieve it. We help them attain happiness and success in their life, career and business.

We Don’t Believe in Impossible.

When Pigs Fly was founded to give you a chance to be happy. A chance to change, to move forward, to become who you want to be and to succeed in life. It’s a chance to achieve what right now may seem impossible now.

We get to the root of the questions people are often too afraid to ask themselves for fear of the answers they may find. Sometimes we believe that what we want is innately selfish. The most selfish thing we can do is live unhappily and not continue to better ourselves to uplift all those around us. We’re here to take the barriers down and help you to achieve your potential.

Life can be cruel and in our darkest days it can be hard to imagine we have any options other than getting through the day, it seems impossible to even imagine the prospect that things can change. We can tell you from personal experience having turned our lives around that change is possible, achievable and just on the other side of fear, we are cultivating lives we are passionate about, and we are dedicated to helping others to do the same.

You can have it all, and you deserve to.
